The Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County

The Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County serves as the premier cultural organization promoting Irish and Irish American heritage throughout Bergenfield, NJ and the greater Bergen County region. Since its founding in 1980, the Council has coordinated the activities of multiple Irish organizations to celebrate and preserve the rich traditions of Ireland and Irish America through diverse programming in history, language, music, dance, theater, prose, sports, and the arts. The organization is best known for hosting the annual Bergen County St. Patrick's Day Parade, which has become a cornerstone community event now in its 44th year. Beyond the parade, the Council organizes cultural events, commemorative ceremonies, and community gatherings that honor Irish heritage and strengthen connections within the Irish American community. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in 2008, the Council brings together numerous member organizations including the Bergen Irish Association, Irish American Social Club, Clan na Vale, New Jersey Gaelic League, and St. Joseph's Gaelic Football Club. The organization maintains strong community partnerships and regularly recognizes distinguished members of the community through awards and honors.
